The YouthBuild Collaborative of Southern California (YBCSC) is a voluntary network of YouthBuild programs in Southern California committed to unleashing the intelligence and positive energy of opportunity youth to rebuild their communities and their lives.
Our mission is to strengthen and support the development and resourcing of YouthBuild programs in the furtherance of the YouthBuild movement to benefit our under-resourced communities.
YBCSC strives to see all YouthBuild programs become successful, high quality and sustainable for equitable and resourced communities.
We uphold a standard that practices accountability, cultivates leadership, and respects one another's beliefs, culture, and space.
The YouthBuild model fosters a supportive community of young adults, ages 16 through 24, that encourages opportunity youth to define and achieve their own goals and aspirations. Within the Los Angeles area there are 21 programs that serve approximately 600 young people every year. YouthBuild has helped hundreds of young people over the last 42 years across the nation and throughout the world.
Regardless of the location, all programs strive to fulfill the YouthBuild model through five core components based on leadership development and skills acquisition.
